On February 14, a workshop was held in Binh Duong province to launch a feasibility study project for an ecological industrial park in the province under the international framework EIP 2.0.
The workshop to launch the feasibility study project was organized by Becamex IDC in coordination with the World Bank and departments and branches of Binh Duong province.
The workshop was attended by Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, representatives of departments, branches in the province and international organizations such as IFC, universities, investors in industrial park infrastructure, enterprises inside and outside industrial parks.

Binh Duong has about 30 industrial parks and 10 industrial clusters. Currently, many industrial parks are transforming towards sustainable development, but have not yet been able to achieve the international framework EIP 2.0.
Among enterprises developing industrial park infrastructure, Becamex IDC is the largest investor in Binh Duong. This enterprise has cooperated with the World Bank to complete the pre-feasibility study phase of developing ecological industrial parks.
In this workshop, Becamex IDC continued to cooperate with the World Bank to implement the project in the feasibility study phase. The goal of this phase is to implement an international standard ecological industrial park model in key industrial parks in Bau Bang region, including: Bau Bang Industrial Park, Bau Bang Industrial Park Expansion and Cay Truong Industrial Park.

Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee assessed that the implementation of feasibility studies on the implementation of the EIP 2.0 international ecological framework industrial park is completely in line with the strategic goals of Binh Duong province in the provincial planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
According to Mr. Bui Minh Thanh, Binh Duong province has planned and oriented industrial parks to be invested in, developed more sustainably, effectively and have higher competitiveness.
" applying the principles of ecological industrial parks helps us reduce carbon emissions, optimize resource use and create an environmentally friendly industrial ecosystem. In addition, EIPs help improve investors' competitiveness by helping them meet strict global environmental standards, thereby expanding access to international markets.
This model is not only a guide for new industrial parks, but also an important transformation path for existing industrial parks" - Mr. Bui Minh Thanh said.
The Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee also expressed his confidence that with the technical support from the World Bank and related organizations and units, the project will pave the way for Binh Duong to become a pioneer locality in Vietnam in developing ecological industrial parks according to international standards.
