In particular, many district-level headquarters in the province have been invested with hundreds of billions of VND for construction but it is not known what they will be used for because there will be no more districts in the near future.
According to Ms. Hoa, departments need to have a plan to use old headquarters and newly completed investment headquarters to make the most of existing infrastructure, limiting additional construction.

According to the proposed plan of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Finance, the headquarters of the 6 surplus blocks is expected to be arranged for Lao Cai High School for the Gifted to use.
The headquarters of the Department of Science and Technology (old) and the Center for Inspection and Testing of Goods will be used to expand Lao Cai Province Endocrinology Hospital.

The old Political School will be transferred to the Lao Cai Province Vocational Education and Continuing Education Technical Center.
The Lao Cai Department of Finance has also developed a detailed roadmap for handling surplus public assets until 2026, 2027.
In addition, for more than 300 surplus public service cars, there is also a detailed handling plan; in which, priority is given to allocating to new communes and wards to promptly put into operation.
According to the Submission No. 2171 reporting to the Government, after the merger of provinces and cities, there are 4,226 surplus public offices that need to be handled, the number of public offices expected to continue to be used is 33,956.
