The Ministry of Construction said that through the inspection of the scene of the fire that occurred at 258 Pham Van Dong (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi) in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 136/CD-TTg dated December 19, 2024, according to the state management function of the Construction sector, to ensure the safety of works, the safety of people's lives and property, the Ministry of Construction requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to strictly implement the directions of the Government and the Prime Minister on fire prevention and fighting, especially Directive No. 19/CT-TTg dated June 24, 2024 on strengthening fire prevention and fighting for multi-storey houses, multi-apartment houses, and individual houses combined with production and business.
The Ministry also emphasized the need to strictly control compliance with legal regulations on construction planning, construction licensing, construction quality and construction order. In particular, it is necessary to manage the conversion of the use of a building or part of a building in accordance with regulations, ensuring fire safety.
In addition, the Ministry of Construction requested localities to strengthen inspection and examination, promptly detect and strictly handle violations of construction planning, construction order and fire prevention. Propaganda, guidance and dissemination of laws on construction order, construction safety and fire prevention at construction works, facilities and crowded places also need to be promoted.
Official dispatch No. 6980/BXD-QLN is expected to raise awareness and responsibility of authorities, investors and people in ensuring fire safety, contributing to minimizing risks and protecting the lives and property of the community.
