On June 28, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to extend the land use progress for 24 months for the Housing Area Project in the Dong Bong - Dong Sac resettlement area, Nam Sam Son ward.
The project is implemented by a joint venture of Son Trang Construction Joint Stock Company (leading) and Thanh Minh Construction and Technical Services Joint Stock Company, and is determined to have a delayed commissioning area of 14,311 m2. This is a land area that has been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as winning the land use right auction according to Decision No. 4334/QD-UBND dated November 2, 2021.
According to the decision, the reason for the extension is that the project has been delayed in land use for more than 24 months, violating the provisions of Clause 8, Article 81 of the 2024 Land Law. The extension period is calculated from the date of signing the decision (June 25, 2026).
During the extended period, relevant departments, branches and localities are assigned the task of monitoring and inspecting the project implementation; and at the same time supervising financial obligations, construction investment progress and land use in accordance with planning.
Son Trang Construction Joint Stock Company is responsible for focusing resources and urgently completing the project to put it into use in accordance with regulations. In case the extension period expires but the project is still not completed, the State will recover land without compensation for land and assets attached to land according to legal regulations.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the tax authority to identify and notify financial obligations arising during the extension period; and at the same time requested relevant departments, branches, and localities to strengthen inspection, supervision, and handle violations (if any) during the project implementation process.
