Adjust the distance between TV, table and sofa
For small living rooms, you should not choose coffee tables that are too large. Auxiliary tables (small tables placed next to sofas) will be more suitable. If you still want to use coffee tables, leave about 30 cm between the sofa and the table for easy standing up, sitting down and getting things.
The distance from the coffee table to the TV should be at least 75 cm - equivalent to the width of a person walking so that the way in the room is always clear.
Balance sofa size with the main wall
Many people choose sofas that are too long compared to the back wall, making the room look cramped and unbalanced. The simple principle is that the total width of the sofa and side table should not exceed 3/4 of the wall width.
For example, if the wall is 4 m wide and the sofa is 2.4 m long, you can add an auxiliary table about 60 cm wide so that the overall look is still harmonious and breathable.
Choose the appropriate sofa and coffee table height
For small houses, you should prioritize a low sofa and table to make the space look wider. The height from the floor to the sofa cushion is about 35 cm, which is comfortable when sitting. The coffee table should be about 30 cm high, suitable for a low sofa and convenient for placing or picking up things.
Reduce the heavy feeling for the TV wall
Although TVs today are thinner, accompanying devices still easily make this area look messy and cramped. It is best to place receivers, speakers, modems... in the TV cabinet below to make it neater.
In addition, the TV can be attached to a rotating stand for flexible viewing angles, which is both convenient to use and helps the space look lighter and more modern.
