On September 7, in Kinh Bac ward, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province - chaired a working session with relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities on the progress of projects south of the Cau River.
At the conference, Kinh Bac Ward People's Committee informed about the progress of site clearance (GPMB) for the new urban area project in the Northwest of Bac Ninh city (zone 1).
Accordingly, this project has a total planning of 277 hectares, reclaiming land from 1,423 households.
Currently, the first compensation and support plan has been approved by the meeting on August 15, 2025 with a reclaimed area of 35,879.7 m2.
However, about 118 hectares have not been handed over by the Gia Thuan Land Fund Development Center Branch for maps; 901 households have not received land reclamation notices, causing difficulties in implementing land acquisition.
According to the reporter's investigation, the above project is invested by Vingroup Corporation, expected to be implemented in 7 years, operating from 2032. The project is adjacent to the Cau River and the existing residential area, the project planning area is mainly residential land, agricultural land, ponds and lakes.
According to the plan, the urban area will have about 60 hectares of land to build houses, providing nearly 3,500 villas, 4-storey townhouses and a maximum of 35 apartment buildings.
The project is also allocated 9.5 hectares of land to develop social housing.
Some other items include service works, offices, parks, health stations, inter-level schools, sports areas, etc.
The total investment capital of the project is about VND 41,270 billion (equivalent to USD 1.58 billion), including compensation and support costs for site clearance of more than VND 1,100 billion.

Projects better serve people's living conditions, for common development
Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan affirmed that in recent times, especially after the newly put into operation of Bac Ninh province, provincial leaders and localities have focused on directing strongly in the field of socio-economic development, especially implementing investment projects to build infrastructure, urban areas, and services, to create space and momentum for the development of the province.
However, many projects are still behind schedule and planning, the main reason being the lack of close coordination between investors and local departments and branches. A part of the people are not fully aware, so they do not agree or support.
Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan requested all localities and units to focus on directing more drastically, realizing the Resolution of the Party Congresses of communes and wards and the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, with the goal of building Bac Ninh into a centrally-run city before 2030.
The steps and implementation processes of construction investment projects are all implemented seriously and in accordance with regulations, but many projects are still most stuck in the compensation and site clearance stages. The province's viewpoint is to make the most of the provisions of the law on support policies for the people.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requested localities to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work for people, support construction investment projects, and create consensus in society.
"Households must clearly identify that investing in the construction of infrastructure, urban and service projects is mainly to better serve the living conditions of the people, for the common development of the locality, the province and the country" - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized.
