Adjust the distance between the TV, table and sofa
For a small living room, you should not choose a coffee table that is too big because it will make the space cramped. Side tables are often a more flexible choice. If you still need a coffee table, keep a distance of about 30 cm between the sofa and the table for easy placement or picking up items.
The distance between the coffee table and the TV should be at least 75 cm, wide enough for one person to pass by, helping movement in the room not to be cumbersome.
Balance the sofa ratio with the main wall
Many people choose sofas only according to their preferences, forgetting the proportion to the space, causing the layout to be unbalanced. The simple principle is that the total width of the sofa and side table should not exceed 3/4 of the width of the back wall.
For example, if the wall is 4 m wide and the sofa is 2.4 m long, you can add a side table of about 60 cm to make the overall look harmonious and airy.
Determine the location of the TV
Before arranging the living room, you should determine the location of the TV because this is the central point that affects the entire interior arrangement. This is especially important for small apartments.
Avoid placing the TV in a place with direct sunlight or under too strong light, as it can easily cause glare and affect the lifespan of the device.
Place the TV at a suitable height
If you are often tired of your neck or shoulders while watching TV, it is very likely that the TV is being placed at the wrong height.
On average, the eye height of the person sitting on the sofa is about 110-115 cm. To watch comfortably, the center of the TV screen should be about 80 cm above the ground. This is the level that helps reduce tension in the neck and brings a more natural viewing posture.
