Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh has just signed an official dispatch directing departments, branches, and related localities to urgently overcome the consequences of the incident occurring at the factory belonging to the gold phosphorus production complex of Vietnam Gold Phosphorus Co., Ltd., located in Tang Loong Industrial Park (Tang Loong commune).
According to initial reports from functional agencies, at about 12:22 pm on February 23, an explosion occurred in the factory's production area. The incident killed 1 person, part of the factory's corrugated iron roof collapsed, and some equipment was damaged.
Immediately after the incident occurred, functional forces were present at the scene to handle, ensure security and order and investigate the cause.
Faced with the seriousness of the incident, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with the Economic Zone Management Board and relevant units to urgently verify, investigate, and clarify the cause; determine the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals; strictly handle violations according to legal regulations and report the results immediately upon completion.
The Provincial Economic Zone Management Board is required to closely coordinate with local authorities and functional forces to grasp the situation, promptly respond to arising developments; participate in providing information to serve the investigation.
At the same time, closely monitor the remediation of incidents by businesses, requiring the full implementation of safety measures, not allowing chemicals to leak into the environment.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment strengthens inspection and supervision of environmental protection work in the area where the incident occurred; assesses and handles pollution risks promptly, ensuring that it does not affect people's health and lives.
The People's Committee of Tang Loong commune is assigned to direct local forces to coordinate in supporting the overcoming of consequences and stabilizing security and order; organize visits and encouragement to families of victims.
The Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee also requested the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations to proactively grasp the situation, promptly support and encourage affected families; coordinate with localities to stabilize people's thoughts.
For Vietnam Gold Phosphorus Co., Ltd., the province requested to focus all resources on overcoming the consequences of the explosion, reviewing the entire production process, and ensuring absolute safety in the factory area.
Along with that, request departments, branches, and localities to thoroughly grasp to all businesses in the area to strictly comply with legal regulations on labor safety and fire and explosion prevention; strengthen inspection and examination at industrial parks, industrial clusters and production and business establishments, resolutely preventing similar incidents from occurring.
