On February 24, Doctor Nguyen Van Than - Director of Quang Ninh Regional General Hospital (Quang Tri province) said that the unit's doctors had just saved a pregnant woman in critical condition due to ectopic pregnancy.
Previously, at about 11 am on February 23, pregnant woman T.T. B. T (born 1986, residing in Ninh Chau commune, Quang Tri province) was taken to the hospital with symptoms of severe abdominal pain, pale mucous membranes, and low blood pressure. According to family members, the pain appeared about 5 hours ago but did not subside, so the family took her to the emergency room.
Doctor Pham Thanh Ha - Head of Obstetrics Department said that the patient is pregnant for the 3rd time, has a history of 2 cesarean sections. Through examination and diagnosis, doctors determined that the pregnant woman had an ectopic pregnancy and immediately indicated emergency surgery.

During the surgery, the team discovered that the patient lost a lot of blood, with about 1.5 liters of blood in the abdomen.Because the pregnant woman's husband did not have the same blood type and other relatives did not have sufficient conditions to donate, the hospital activated the Live Blood Bank.
Two nurses Mai Thi Tuoi and Mai Thi Hong (Department of Pediatrics) quickly participated in blood donation, contributing to ensuring sufficient blood transfusion during the surgery.
After nearly 1 hour of surgery, the surgery was successful, and the pregnant woman was out of danger. Currently, the patient is awake, her health is stable and continues to be monitored and treated at the hospital.
