Land recovery of 2,215 households for Xuyen Tam canal project
The Xuyen Tam Canal renovation project reclaims about 19.6 hectares of land from 2,215 households in Binh Thanh and Go Vap districts.
In Go Vap district, the project will reclaim more than 2.4 hectares of land from 138 cases (40 households will be completely cleared, 98 other households will be partially affected).
In Binh Thanh district, the recovered area is more than 17.2 hectares with 2,077 cases, including 1,230 households and 23 organizations that will be completely cleared, leaving 824 households partially affected.
Of the total 1,175 households that need resettlement, currently in Binh Thanh district there are only 292 vacant apartments (including 250 apartments and 42 plots of land), a shortage of 883 apartments.
To meet the demand, the HCMC People's Committee has approved the addition of 577 apartments, available land and a social housing project expected to provide 864 units at 4 Phan Chu Trinh.
According to plan, the section through Go Vap district will start construction in November 2024 and the section through Binh Thanh district will start construction before April 30, 2025.
The Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project (investor) said that this year, the Xuyen Tam Canal renovation project can disburse about 12,084 billion VND.
But this depends on the People's Committees of Binh Thanh and Go Vap districts approving the compensation and resettlement support plan before December 15 and promptly requesting the investor to transfer the advance payment before December 20.
The Xuyen Tam Canal renovation project has recently had its capital increased from VND9,664 billion to VND17,229 billion, of which most of the additional costs are for compensation, support and resettlement.
Renovation of the North bank of the Doi Canal, land acquisition for 1,633 households
The project to renovate the North bank of Doi Canal (District 8) will reclaim more than 5.85 hectares of land from 1,633 cases, of which 614 cases will be partially affected and 1,019 cases will be completely cleared.
Of the 907 households eligible for resettlement, only 443 households chose to resettle, while the remaining 464 households received money and arranged their own new accommodation.
It is expected that this year, the project will disburse about VND5,374 billion, mainly for compensation and resettlement support.
However, the progress of disbursement depends on the People's Committee of District 8 approving the compensation and resettlement support plan before December 15 and requiring the investor to transfer the advance payment before December 20.
This project, recently increased from over VND4,900 billion to over VND7,400 billion, mainly to supplement compensation and site clearance costs. The project will start construction in 2025 and be completed in 2028.
Beltway 2 reclaims land from 1,166 households in Thu Duc
The Beltway 2 project through Thu Duc City consists of two sections: section one is more than 3.5km long from Phu Huu bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap street and section two is nearly 2.5km long from Vo Nguyen Giap street to Pham Van Dong street.
To implement the project, Thu Duc City will reclaim about 61.15 hectares of land from 1,166 households and organizations, with a total compensation and support cost of VND 7,600 billion.
Thu Duc City People's Committee has begun posting the draft compensation and resettlement support plan in the wards where the project passes, expected to last until November 27, to collect opinions from affected residents.
For households that agree with the compensation plan, Thu Duc City will pay compensation from next December, with the goal of starting the project in mid-2025 and completing it in 2028.
