The Olympic Sports Urban Area project was started on December 19, 2025, with a total investment of about 925 trillion VND, divided into 4 sub-zones spread over 11 communes in Hanoi.
In the overall Olympic Sports Urban Area project, sub-zone D has an area of 3,742.70ha, located in Thanh Oai, Tam Hung, and Dan Hoa communes.
Thanh Oai commune alone has an area of about 1,485ha, accounting for 39.6% of the sub-area area; the total land clearance area is 841.75ha, mainly agricultural land.
Clearly recognizing the importance of the Olympic Sports Urban Area project, Thanh Oai commune has focused on leading and directing drastically and synchronously solutions in the past time, in which special attention has been paid to propaganda and mobilization of people.
Propaganda work is implemented in many diverse forms, suitable for each target audience such as: Organizing conferences, direct dialogues with the people; propaganda on the loudspeaker system; through village and residential group meetings; promoting the role of cadres, party members, and prestigious people in the community.
The content of propaganda focused on clarifying the meaning and importance of the project for the socio-economic development of the Capital and the locality; and at the same time fully disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement.
Through this, gradually creating a change in awareness and consensus among the people, making an important contribution to the implementation of site clearance work on schedule.
Thanh Oai Commune People's Committee has also announced the compensation unit price and policies to support site clearance when the State recovers land to implement the Olympic Sports Urban Area project according to current regulations.
Accordingly, the level of compensation for agricultural land and support for career change and job creation for households and individuals directly engaged in agricultural production when the State recovers land to implement the Olympic Sports Urban Area project in Thanh Oai commune is 1,085,000 VND/m2.
Regarding the progress bonus for site handover (according to Article 20, Decision No. 40/2026/QD-UBND dated April 2, 2026 of the Hanoi People's Committee), agricultural land users handing over land within 10 days from the date of the Land Recovery Decision are rewarded 10,000 VND/m2 but not exceeding 10,000 VND/land user (i.e., land users with a land recovery decision from 1m2 to less than 1,000m2 multiplied by the bonus of 10,000 VND/m2; for households with an recovered area of over 1,000m2, the fixed progress bonus is 10,000 VND/land user).
In addition, households and individuals will receive additional support money to stabilize their lives; compensation for trees and crops on land (if any).
