Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka will demand a transfer fee before agreeing to leave this summer. The "Red Devils" are ready to sell the English defender when West Ham made an offer worth £18 million to the former Crystal Palace player. However, Wan-Bissaka's salary requirements are becoming a major issue in this deal.
Wan-Bissaka will be delighted to stay at Old Trafford this summer despite having just 12 months left on his contract. This means the defender is in no rush to sell out at £90,000 a week. Sources said the 26-year-old's representative asked the "Red Devils" to return a portion of the transfer fee to Wan-Bissaka if they wanted the deal to be completed quickly.
In that context, Man United are still planning to replace Wan-Bissaka. Noussair Mazraoui of Bayern Munich is emerging as the top target of the "Red Devils". The defender is said to have rejected West Ham's offer in the hope of joining Erik ten Hag's side. The Marquis worked alongside Ten Hag at Ajax for 137 appearances.
Man United are expected to return with Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt before the 2024 summer transfer window closes. Both players are said to be waiting for the move of the Old Trafford team, with individual terms agreed.
There is confidence that at least one deal will be made, although Man United still need to agree on a price with Bayern. Last month, the "Gray Tigers" once rejected Man United's buy-to-brake offer.
Ten Hag has expressed confidence in the "Red Devils" transfer system, including Dan Ashworth, Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada. These names are expected to help Ten Hag get a satisfactory squad in the new 2024-2025 season. However, Ten Hag also admitted that buying and selling players depends a lot on opportunities.
"This new leadership team is really eager to do business, want to do deals and they are doing it. But if the time comes, we must do it.
I don't know, I can't say at the moment, but I'm sure, when there is an opportunity, they will seize it" - the Dutch strategist said.
There is not much time left for the "Red Devils" to complete the squad before the Premier League starts. They will face Man City in the English Super Cup match next weekend and open the Premier League on August 16.
