AC Milan are considering making a loan bid for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.
Rashford has made it clear he feels ready for a new challenge after struggling for form in the last two seasons. After being left out of the Manchester derby squad, the England striker gave a bombshell interview, making clear his desire to leave.
That led to manager Ruben Amorim dropping the 27-year-old and United were also ready to let Rashford go. The England striker returned to the Red Devils' squad but missed last weekend's game against Liverpool due to illness.
Rashford's return coincides with the January transfer window opening. Clubs are considering a move for Rashford, with Milan emerging as a contender to offer him a way out of Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Mail, the Serie A team is considering a loan move for the striker. Milan have endured a difficult season, but are slowly reviving under new coach Sergio Conceicao.
Milan have struggled to score goals with injuries to strikers Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, so they have turned their attention to Rashford as a solution to their attacking problems in the second half of the season.
Rashford is believed to want to stay in Europe, after turning down the chance to move to Saudi Arabia. However, Milan will have to overcome a number of hurdles to sign him.
Firstly, Man United want to collect 40 million pounds for this 27-year-old player. Rashford's salary demands are also difficult to meet when he earns 325,000 pounds a week at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils would be willing to accept a loan deal with an option to buy, while Amorim said on Christmas Eve that Rashford would have to maintain his standards if he wanted to stay at United.
"When I feel it's the right time, I'll change something. Until then, I'll keep thinking about what's best for the team. I speak to Rashford every day, not about the interview but about the performance.
He wants to play football and he is trying. It is my decision, just my decision. I am trying to do things my way. And that is the only way I know, if I don't do it, I will lose myself" - said the Portuguese coach.
