The 2025 winter transfer window opens in the Premier League, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 at 07:00 on January 1 (Vietnam time), followed by La Liga, Serie A and Primeira Liga opening 24 hours later.
This will be an opportunity for big teams to add personnel for the next stage, while players who have lost their form can seek challenges elsewhere.
Marcus Rashford
Rashford is almost certain to leave Man United this winter, after interviewing earlier this month about being ready to leave Old Trafford.
Manager Ruben Amorim's omission of the 27-year-old from the squad since mid-December suggests Rashford's future at the club is no longer certain.
He has more than three years left on his £325,000-a-week contract, so United could demand a significant fee for him. Sources told ESPN that few European clubs were interested in Rashford during the summer, leaving Saudi Arabia as the most likely destination at the moment.
Martin Zubimendi
The Real Sociedad midfielder was Arne Slot's top target after taking over at Liverpool, but the Reds failed to agree a deal in the summer. Liverpool remain interested in Zubimendi and are ready to make a bid. Man City are also monitoring the Spaniard.
Pep Guardiola needs to strengthen his midfield after losing Rodri for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury. Zubimendi is also Rodri's replacement for Spain and should fit in better at Man City.
Viktor Gyokeres
Gyokeres is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe at the moment, having scored 27 goals in 27 appearances this season, including a hat-trick against Man City in the Champions League.
Arsenal and Man United are said to be interested in him, but the problem is that the player has a £100 million release clause in his contract. Big clubs will have to consider carefully and the deal could take a long time.
Antony
Antony has struggled since signing for United from Ajax in August 2022 for £80m. The 24-year-old has scored just 12 goals in 93 appearances and continues to be out of favour under manager Ruben Amorim. Reports suggest the club are prepared to sell the Brazilian or loan him out in January.
Antony's £70,000-a-week wages are affordable for many clubs, and Türkiye could be the most likely destination for the player in January.
Ben Chilwell
Manager Enzo Maresca told Chilwell he could find a new club in the summer transfer window, but he was unable to complete a deal before the deadline. The 28-year-old has made just one appearance for the Blues this season and is expected to be one of the first first-team players to leave Stamford Bridge in the new year.
Randal Kolo Muani
The 26-year-old striker has fallen out of favour under manager Luis Enrique and is likely to leave PSG in January. Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United have all been linked with the France international.
Kolo Muani has scored just two goals in 14 appearances in all competitions this season, having scored just 12 in 44 games last season – a disappointing return considering the capital club signed him for €95m from Frankfurt in 2023.
