Mikel Arteta's current contract with Arsenal, signed in September 2024, will expire next summer. However, the Spanish coach has agreed to continue to stick with the London club.
When asked about the contract situation before Arsenal's away trip to Brighton, Arteta did not give a specific time but affirmed that the two sides have a common direction.
I think we are all very much in agreement. When the right time comes, we will complete it. There is nothing to worry about. I think both sides have the same ambition and will. So when we have time, we will solve this problem" - Arteta said.
Arteta was appointed by Arsenal in December 2019. In nearly 7 years of leading the team, he gradually brought Arsenal back to the title competition group and helped the club win the Premier League title last season, ending 22 years of waiting. Previously, Arsenal had three consecutive seasons of second place.
In addition to the Premier League title, Arteta also helped Arsenal win the FA Cup and three Community Shields. Last season, he brought the "Gunners" to the Champions League final for the first time in history, but Arsenal lost to Paris Saint-Germain in a penalty shootout.
Arteta's continued attachment is seen as the next step in Arsenal's plan to maintain stability after years of the team continuously competing in the top group.
