Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan.
The Gunners' move to sign the Blues striker has been swift and requires a written agreement to be submitted to the Premier League to be completed after the English transfer deadline.
The England and Chelsea star moves from west London to north London and reunites with manager Mikel Arteta, who he worked with at Manchester City.
The Blues forced Sterling out of the club after stripping him of his shirt number, while head coach Enzo Maresca publicly told the player to find a new club or risk being dropped.
Sterling will join Arsenal as the club aim to dethrone Man City from the Premier League throne.
Sterling will join Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard as options on the left flank of Arsenal's attack, giving Arteta more depth after losing Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe to Crystal Palace and Fulham this summer. He can also support Bukayo Saka on the right.
A move to Arsenal could even give him a chance to return to the England squad, after being left out of the Euro 2024 squad. He was also left out of the FIFA Days squad by caretaker manager Lee Carsley in September.
Sterling will miss Saturday's game against Brighton & Hove Albion, but is available for the Tottenham game after FIFA Days.
Back to Chelsea, after dealing with Sterling, they also quickly signed a loan contract for Jadon Sancho from Manchester United until the end of the season.
The deal includes Chelsea signing the 24-year-old England international for between £20-25m next summer.
Sancho joined Man United for £73m from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021 but has had a difficult time at Old Trafford.
He made 83 appearances in three seasons but fell out with coach Erik ten Hag and was not allowed to train with the first team.
After rejoining Dortmund on loan for the second half of the 2023-24 season, he returned to Man United in the summer and has yet to be named in the squad for any Premier League match.
