Arsenal have reached an agreement to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for a fee of 20 million Euros (17.1 million pounds), in the context that the Emirates Stadium team plans to spend heavily to add a quality left winger for the 2026-2027 season.
After the first Premier League title in more than 20 years and a ticket to the Champions League final last season, Arsenal's board of directors is determined to continue investing to help coach Mikel Arteta improve the squad.
One of the top priorities is to strengthen the left wing. Arsenal are currently paying special attention to Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa and Bradley Barcola of PSG, two players who are both valued very high.

To be able to make such big deals, the "Gunners" need to create space in the squad as well as balance the budget. Therefore, Leandro Trossard's departure is considered an important step.
According to British media, Arsenal has reached an agreement with Besiktas on the case of the Belgian international. However, the deal is likely to only be completed after the 2026 World Cup when the two sides are still negotiating personal terms.
Joining Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023, Trossard quickly became an important player under Arteta. Last season, the 31-year-old player scored 6 goals and had 6 assists after 31 appearances in the Premier League. Including the decisive goal against West Ham in May, contributing greatly to helping Arsenal win the championship.
Although loved by fans, Trossard's departure from Emirates will almost pave the way for Arsenal to accelerate their pursuit of Morgan Rogers or Bradley Barcola.
Rogers just experienced an explosive 2025-2026 season for Aston Villa and is said to have a price of up to 130 million pounds. This is a number that could become a transfer record for English football.
Meanwhile, Barca is also valued by PSG at a similar level, even higher than the 116 million pounds that Manchester City once spent to recruit Elliot Anderson. The French winger still has 2 years of contract with the Paris capital team, but the contract extension negotiation process is in deadlock.
Not only Arsenal, Liverpool is also closely following Barcola and is ready to compete if PSG agrees to let this star leave.
In another development, Arsenal is likely to miss young talent Jeremy Monga of Leicester City. This promising player is about to complete his transfer to Man City for a fee of about £12.5 million.

The willingness to part ways with Trossard shows that Arsenal is entering a phase of rebuilding the attack with greater ambitions after a successful season. If they collect the fee as expected, the "Gunners" will have more resources to pursue Rogers or Barcola, although both deals are predicted to be very complicated due to the price exceeding the £100 million mark.
With Liverpool and many European "giants" also participating in the race, Arsenal will need to act decisively if they want to soon complete the squad upgrade plan.
