Champions League bonuses have increased by a third after the tournament was reformed this season. This makes the tournament more important for Premier League teams competing for a spot.
England will have 6 clubs participating in the Champions League next year, earning an additional spot thanks to the points coefficient. One of the two clubs Manchester United and Tottenham also qualified by winning the Europa League.
This is good news for English clubs as the total prize in the Champions League this season has expanded from 32 to 36 teams, up to 2.06 billion pounds, compared to 1.74 billion pounds in the old format.
Each eligible club will automatically earn £15.7 million - even if they lose every match and are eliminated from the group stage.
In the League Phase, each win will bring the club 1.8 million pounds. Meanwhile, a draw is worth £590,000.
By entering the top 8 of the League Phase, thereby qualifying directly for the round of 16, UEFA will reward each club with 1.7 million pounds.

Teams are also awarded £233,000 for each corresponding position on the rankings. This season, Liverpool received 8.4 million pounds as the top team, while Arsenal earned 7.9 million pounds as the second-placed team.
UEFA will then reward the teams that enter each round of the knockout stage:
Champion: £21.5 million
Runner-up: 15.9 million pounds
Semi-final: £12.9 million
Quarterfinal: £10.7 million
Therefore, Arsenal is the team that earned the most money among English clubs this season.
The journey to the semi-finals, where they were defeated by Paris St Germain, brought Arsenal about 70 million pounds in bonuses. And that is before taking into account ticket sales and commercial revenue.
UEFA has also introduced a new "value pillar" of payment for the first time this season - which could bring an additional £10.5 million to clubs.
This is a bonus based on the successes of European clubs in history and the amount of money that the country has to pay for the Champions League broadcasting rights.
The battle for a ticket to the Champions League in the Premier League
As the 2024-2025 Premier League season is gradually coming to an end, there are only 7 more points left to determine the 6 teams competing for the remaining positions below champions Liverpool.
The important thing is that England's points coefficient means that the Premier League will have 5 places this season, instead of 4 places as usual.
Arsenal could decide their own fate if they win against Liverpool this weekend. Meanwhile, Man City, Newcastle and Chelsea are holding the next positions, while Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are in sixth and seventh place respectively.
The Premier League's 5 spots will increase to 6 when both Tottenham and Man United reach the Europa League final.

Both teams are in the bottom half of the Premier League table and have no chance to enter the top 5. However, the Europa League champions will qualify for the Champions League.
When an English side win the Europa League, it does not mean that the fifth-placed team in the Premier League will lose a place in the Champions League.
