History of Puskas Arena
Puskas Arena Stadium was officially inaugurated as the new national stadium of Hungary on November 15, 2019.
It was built on the foundation of the old Ferenc Puskas stadium, which was demolished in 2017, and still retains the brick walls of the former stadium at the main entrance.

The construction of the new Puskas Arena stadium combines the architectural values of the old stadium with the application of the most modern techniques," said Codina Architectural, the company that designed and built the impressive metal exterior of the stadium.
Like its predecessor stadium, Puskas Arena is named after the legendary Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskás, who has won the European Champions League three times with Real Madrid.
The stadium also hosted four matches at UEFA EURO 2020, including Hungary's 1-1 draw with defending World Cup champion France in Group F, and the UEFA 2020 Super Cup between Bayern München and Sevilla, a match that the German team won 2-1.
Located just east of the center of Budapest, the stadium is only one km from the central railway station of Budapest Keleti and two km from the historical center of the Hungarian capital.
