The second of three major European finals this season will take place at tarczynski Arena in Wrocław (Poland).
Chelsea hope to win the title when facing Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final.
Since going through the League Phase, Enzo Maresca's side have faced FC Copenhagen (final 3-1), Legia Warsaw (4-2) and Djurgarden (5-1). However, these are not strong European teams.
But Chelsea have always played with a serious attitude and now they are aiming for history. After winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1971, 1998), UEFA Champions League (2012, 2021) and UEFA Europa League (2013, 2019), they could become the first team in UEFA's history to win four major tournaments.
Chelsea have impressively reached the Conference League final this season with 38 goals so far. This is a record since the tournament was launched in 2021.
Meanwhile, this will be Manuel Pellegrini's first European Cup final, becoming only the second Chilean coach to do so. Before that, Fernando Riera and Benfica reached the European Cup final in 1963 (losing 1-2 to AC Milan).
Real Betis had a more difficult final journey than Chelsea. They defeated Gent (3-1), Vitoria Guimaraes (6-2), Jagiellonia Biaystok (3-1) and Fiorentina (4-3) after finishing in 15th place in the League Phase.
Betis have won just one of their eight meetings with English sides in all competitions (1 draw, 6 losses). However, that only win was against Chelsea in the 2005-2006 Champions League.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have lost three of their last four UEFA tournaments against Spanish sides (one win). Notably, all of them against Real Madrid in the Champions League from 2022 to 2023.
If Chelsea want to improve their title, they will have to end the traditional thuage of English teams against Spanish opponents in the final.
