Tottenham will host Man United in the quarter-finals of the English League Cup. The winner will face Arsenal in the semi-finals.
Spurs' form has been inconsistent recently. After five straight winless games, Tottenham have just picked up their first three points against Southampton. They are currently 10th in the Premier League table. The EFL Cup is the best chance for Ange Postecoglou and his team to quench their thirst for trophies.
Tottenham's last major trophy was the 2007-08 League Cup, when they faced Man City in the quarter-finals before beating Arsenal and Chelsea to win the competition.
On the other side, the last time Man United won the English League Cup was in the 2022-2023 season. That was also the first title under former coach Erik ten Hag.
His successor, Ruben Amorim, has also faced many problems in the past month, but surely the comeback victory against Man City will give them more motivation. With the Red Devils winning both titles in the last two seasons (1 English League Cup, 1 FA Cup), the pressure on Amorim's teachers and students is not small.
