On the evening of February 16 (Vietnam time), Liverpool hosted Wolves at Anfield in the framework of round 25 of the Premier League.
The home team had a smooth start, when they opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Toti Gomes broke the ball, allowing Luis Diaz to easily chip the ball past goalkeeper Jose Sa.
After Diogo Jota missed two good chances, Liverpool scored a second goal due to a personal mistake by the opposing team. Diaz was fouled by Jose Sa in the penalty area, the referee awarded The Kop a penalty. Mohamed Salah calmly converted the ball to double the gap.

The second half began with many notable situations for both teams, in which Salah had a goal that was disallowed due to an offside error.
In the 60th minute, referee Simon Hooper awarded Liverpool a second penalty, but after consulting VAR, the decision was overturned because Emmanuel Agbadou had a valid dispute with Jota.
Wolves continuously threatened the opponent with counter-attacks. They narrowed the gap thanks to a beautiful long-range shot by Matheus Cunha in the second half.
That goal gave Wolves more motivation. The Kop had to work very hard to preserve the overall victory of 2-1. They extended the gap with second-placed Arsenal to 7 points. For their part, Wolves are still in 17th place, two points ahead of Ipswich Town and Leicester City.
