Man United worried about Cunha and Mason Mount injuries

NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

Man United's 3-2 victory over Burnley was not really complete due to injuries to Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount.

Cunha suffered a hamstring injury in the first half at Old Trafford, just minutes after United opened the scoring thanks to Josh Cullen's own goal. The Brazilian striker immediately signaled to the bench that he could not continue playing and go straight to the tunnel after leaving the pitch.

Mount, meanwhile, was substituted at the end of the first half. After the match, coach Ruben Amorim said the English midfielder was also injured.

Its hard to lose Cunha and Mason Mount to injury. We will check them. I am very worried because they are important to us. Man United need them to be able to compete with their opponents, Ruben Amorim said after the match.

Cunha was replaced by Joshua Zirkzee, while Kobbie Mainoo came on for Mount. Man United had a hard-fought victory over new signing Burnley. The Old Trafford team took the lead twice but then all were equalized.

However, in extra time, Man United was awarded a penalty after the referee checked VAR. On the 11m mark, Bruno Fernandes scored in the 90+7 minute, helping Man United win 3-2. This is also Man United's first win of the new season, helping Ruben Amorim and his students relieve a lot of pressure.

It was three points, if we look at the first half of a match, we have many opportunities to score, control the game and can solve everything. But we complicated things, forced them to fight until the last minute. This victory will help us in the upcoming international break, Amorim said.

Regarding why he didn't watch Bruno's penalty, Amorim said: "I like to see the pictures of the fans. What comes must come. At that time, I thought, winning the match was fair. And I don't think Bruno will miss a second consecutive penalty."
