If they cannot renew their contract, Liverpool could lose Mohamed Salah next summer. The Kop rejected Al Ittihad's £150m offer to Salah in August last year and did not want to see the Egyptian striker's value drop sharply.
Jurgen Klopp's departure is expected to help Liverpool keep Salah. The duo had a conflict in April in the Premier League against West Ham. Now, the task of tying the 32-year-old will belong to football CEO Michael Edwards, technical director Julian Ward and sporting director Richard Hughes. If Salah's future is not resolved in August, Liverpool must consider selling the Egyptian star to avoid losing tens of millions of pounds.
This will force them to find Salah's replacement and this is an extremely important transition step for the Anfield team. Captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold also have only 1 year left on their contracts, although the contract extension negotiations have gone quite smoothly.
Klopp carried out the reconstruction and construction of "Liverpool 2.0" last summer. The German coach has almost completely replaced Liverpool's midfield with new factors. The concern for The Kop at the moment is probably the attack, as the futures of Salah and Luis Diaz are both in jeopardy.
New coach Arne Slot also has to help Darwin Nunez improve his mentality and finishing. The Uruguayan striker played particularly badly at the end of last season. Even Liverpool fans have gradually lost faith in Nunez amid Barcelona's interest.
However, financial problems may prevent Nunez from leaving Anfield, so Liverpool's attack will not have many changes next season. In contrast, the Reds' defence has seen the departure of Joel Matip and they are targeting Marc Guehi.
The England international has two more years left on his Crystal Palace contract and is expected to have an unpleasant price. Guehi's value could increase further as he joins the "Three Lions" at EURO 2024.
Liverpool may think Guehi is too expensive, especially with Jarell Quansah making great strides last season. In addition, Slot has Joe Gomez in the center-back position, a player who is also participating in EURO 2024.
The Kop will try to find a new reserve player for Andy Robertson at left-back when Kostas Tsimikas does not meet expectations. Last season, there were times when Gomez had to reluctantly play on the wing when the Scottish defender was injured.
Caoimhin Kelleher would not be happy to return to the bench after an excellent season and at the age of 25, the Irishman wants to be a regular starter in the Premier League. Liverpool have rejected Nottingham Forest's offer in the winter transfer window and could demand a £40m offer for Kelleher this summer.
Liverpool do not want to lose Kelleher but also understand that they will not be able to stop him from leaving if there is an attractive invitation. This will force The Kop to find another backup option for Alisson Becker in goal.
