Man City returned to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League in midweek. City had 28 shots on goal, had 73% possession and hit the crossbar three times in the first half. With the game completely dominated, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and James McAtee all shined to help The Citizens claim all 3 points.
Manager Pep Guardiola believes his side are improving in attack and was particularly pleased with the performance. City have their final Premier League game at home to Fulham before the October international break. The Etihad side are currently second in the table and will be under pressure to win to maintain their rivalry with leaders Liverpool.
The reigning champions have every reason to be confident, having won their last 16 meetings with Fulham in all competitions. If City avoid defeat, they will extend their unbeaten home record to 50 games.
Fulham, for their part, are enjoying their best start to a Premier League campaign since 2003, having picked up 11 points from six games. They are currently sixth in the table, just three points behind Manchester City. Since losing their opening game to Manchester United, the Cottagers have gone on an impressive five-game unbeaten run.
However, Marco Silva's team will now face a really difficult away trip. Their last victory at the Etihad in the Premier League was in 2009 (3-1). Fulham of today cannot be underestimated, but Man City's superior force will be an advantage that helps them enter this match with a lot of optimism.
