Overview
Juventus have been inconsistent in the first half of the season. They haven’t been terrible on the pitch, but they haven’t been able to win games overall.
Not counting the 4-0 win over Cagliari in the Coppa Italia or the 2-0 win over Man City in the Champions League, Juventus have had a series of 4 consecutive draws in Serie A.
In all competitions, the Bianconeri have drawn 10 games, two to three more than the team in the second position. These results leave Juventus with only 28 points and 6th place in the rankings, even though they are still unbeaten in Serie A this year.
Therefore, coach Thiago Motta's team is looking forward to a victory in the away match against Monza. They need a mental boost to aim for a more successful 2025.
This is a completely reasonable goal for Juventus, because Monza is not playing well in the 2024-2025 season. They have not known the taste of victory in Serie A since October, and have only had 1 victory in this year's campaign.
These poor results have left Monza with only 10 points, and they are considered one of the teams likely to be relegated after this season ends.
Juventus may be struggling with issues up front and finishing the game, but they certainly won’t be dropping points against a weak side like Monza at the moment.
In their last six meetings with Monza, Juventus have won four and drawn two. Last season, they recorded a double victory over their opponents both at home and away.
Human resources situation
Daniel Maldini is suspended for Monza, while Andrea Petagna, Roberto Gagliardini and Luca Caldirola are on the injury list. Dany Mota will start up front alongside Gianluca Caprari.
On the other side of the front line, Juventus also have injury problems with Bremer, Arkadiusz Milik, Andrea Cambiaso and Timothy Weah all sidelined. Nicolas Gonzalez will return to the squad, leading the attack alongside Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz.
Expected lineup:
Monza: Turati, Izzo, Mari, Carboni, Birindelli, Bondo, Blanco, Kyriakopoulos, Forson, Mota, Caprari.
Juventus: Di Gregorio, Danilo, Kalulu, Gatti, Savona, McKennie, Thuram, Conceicao, Koopmeiners, Yildiz, Vlahovic.
The match between Monza and Juventus takes place at 2:45 a.m. on December 23 (Vietnam time).
