Man City have only won one of their last four games, against second-tier Watford. Pep Guardiola's side struggled to draw with Arsenal and Newcastle, and were held to a draw by Inter Milan in their opening Champions League match.
The Citizens have also dropped to second place in the Premier League, but the positive is that they have only lost one game over 90 minutes since December. City clearly go into this game as favourites.
After being held to a draw at home by Inter in their opening group game, City will be looking for their first win. This fixture could see the biggest difference in market value between the two clubs. Transfermarkt values Slovan Bratislava's entire squad at just £24m, while City's star players are valued at £1.04bn.
If they do not lose this match, Man City can equal the record unbeaten streak in the European Cup/Champions League (25 matches) held by Manchester United, set from 2007 to 2009.
On the other side, the Slovakian team suffered a 1-5 defeat to Celtic in their Champions League debut. It shows that coach Vladimir Weiss and his team will have to work very hard to narrow the gap in their first time entering the continental playground.
Slovan have been in good form domestically, winning all three of their last matches and scoring 12 goals, topping the Slovak national championship. But the Champions League will be a much tougher challenge, as no Slovak club has ever reached the knockout stages of the competition.
Expected lineup

Manchester City: Ortega; Lewis, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol; Nunes, Kovacic; Savinho, Foden, Doku; Haaland.
