Pre-match information
Ruben Amorim will take charge of his first game as Man United head coach when they travel to Ipswich Town.
The Portuguese will have his first taste of English football at Portman Road. Under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Red Devils have been performing well, going 4 games unbeaten.
Amorim will have to deal with a number of injury problems and start to change the identity of the team. It won’t be easy with United still a long way from the top four. The trip to Ipswich could be ideal, with the opposition having won just one game this season and only just escaping the relegation zone.
However, Ipswich have just caused a surprise with a 2-1 win over Tottenham in north London. Their coach, Kieran McKenna, was previously a first-team assistant and youth coach at Man United. He will have some knowledge of the Manchester club.
