The Bundesliga championship race is becoming more exciting as the gap between the top two teams is not large.
Welcoming the tough opponent Hoffenheim at home, Dortmund is still rated much higher and has a great chance to increase the gap with Bayern Munich to 10 points. The Ruhr team also had a perfect start when they continuously gained an advantage early.
In the 32nd minute, Jadon Sancho continued his brilliant form with a smart move and skillful finishing to bring the opening goal. Right before the end of the first half, the gap was doubled for Dortmund after a typical and fast counter-attack. Sancho could not beat Baumann after a narrow-angle shot but Mario Gotze was present in time to tap the ball into an empty net.
3 points seemed to be in Dortmund's hands when Raphael Guerreiro scored to increase the score to 3-0 in the 63rd minute. However, the away team Hoffenheim under the leadership of coach Julian Nagelsmann did not give up.
Hoffenheim started the comeback with the first goal in the 75th minute. The striker came on after the break, Ishak Belfodil lit up the visitors' hope when he seized the opportunity to finish past Roman Burki after Abdou Diallo of Bayern had a worsening save.
In the 83rd minute, Pavel Kaderabek received a cross from Grillitsch and headed into Burki's net, shortening the score to 2-3 for Hoffenheim. Just 4 minutes later, Belfodil stunned Signal Iduna Park when he flew as the top scorer to equalize 3-3.
Taking advantage of the silly stumble of the home team at Signal Iduna Park, Bayern Munich played very determined against Schalke 04 to get 3 points, shortening the gap on social networks. With home advantage, Niko Kovac's students flooded up to attack right after the opening whistle.
Before the attack could speak up, the "Gray Tigers" received a gift from their opponents. In the 11th minute, Jeffrey Bruma sloppy- eyes into the own net after trying to prevent Lewandowski from entering the penalty area.
In the 25th minute, Ahmed Kutucu suddenly equalized for Schalke from a typical counter-attack, but that was all the away team could do. Bayern only took 2 minutes to regain the lead and this time, Lewandowski did not need to rely on the "assistance" of the opposing defender.
In the second half, Schalke continued to suffer stormy attacks from Bayern. In fact, the "Green Emperor" only lasted until the 57th minute - the time Serge Gnabry scored to seal a 3-1 victory for the defending champion.
This victory helped Kovac and his team reduce the gap with Dortmund to 5 points. The Bundesliga title race this season is therefore more exciting and tense in the rest.
