At the ceremony, Phu Yen Provincial Party Secretary Cao Thi Hoa An reviewed the heroic revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee, army and people of Phu Yen in the struggle for national liberation.

After 1954, the US plotted to urbanize the South, divide our country; turn South Vietnam into a new-style colony and military base, and use it as a springboard to attack North Vietnam.
In Phu Yen, the enemy caused the Ngan Son - Chi Thanh massacre; launched "collision and extermitation" campaigns to assassinate, arrest, and detain cadres, party members, and revolutionary masses.

Under the wise leadership of the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, the army and people of Phu Yen overcame countless difficulties, fought bravely, and achieved glorious feats.
The resounding victories on the battlefields of the Central Highlands, Hue, Da Nang and the historic Road 5 created a decisive opportunity for the general offensive to liberate Phu Yen province.
At 11:00 a.m. on April 1, 1975, the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam flew on the top of Thap Nhan, Phu Yen was completely liberated.

The achievements of the army and people of Phu Yen contributed to the victory of the army and people of the whole country in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, liberating the South and unifying the country on April 30, 1975 .
Immediately after the liberation, the Party Committee and government of Phu Yen province led and directed the political system and people to start rebuilding their homeland, both overcoming the severe consequences of war and gradually finding a path for socio-economic development.

From a poor, purely agricultural province, the province's economy has developed strongly, the economic growth rate through each period has always been maintained at a fairly good level, especially in years when economic growth reached over 14%.
Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An emphasized that the 50th anniversary of Phu Yen Province Liberation Day took place at a time when the whole country was carrying out a revolution to enter a new era - the era of national growth.
"On behalf of the leaders of Phu Yen province, I call on people, comrades, and soldiers in the whole province to promote the spirit of the victory on the historic April 1st day; "respect the past, believe in the present, and be strong in the future"; join hands to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and be determined to build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland; together with the whole country to successfully carry out the revolution to enter the era of national growth...", Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An called.

Pay attention to doing better social security work, repaying gratitude, remembering and expressing gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell on the heroic land of Phu Yen, striving to have no more poor households, determined to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.
