Today (October 11), the announcement ceremony of the 2024 HDBank student futsal tournament in Hanoi took place.
12 participating universities include Hanoi National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam Agricultural Academy, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, Thang Long University, Dai Nam University, School of Mechanics - Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi Capital University, Hanoi University of Business and Technology, University of Economics and Industrial Technology.
12 teams are divided into 4 groups, each group consists of 3 teams, competing in a round robin format to calculate rankings, selecting the top 2 teams from each group to compete in the quarter-finals, then in the semi-finals and finals.
20 matches will take place at the Training and Competition House of Vietnam Agricultural Academy (Trau Quy town, Gia Lam district, Hanoi city).
Mr. Pham Thanh Sang, Head of the tournament organizing committee, said: "This is the second year the tournament has been organized independently, on a regional scale, to attract the attention of the audience, especially the student community.
The 2023 Central Highlands student futsal season has left many outstanding impressions on students in the Central Highlands region and we continue to set this goal with students in the Hanoi region.
Hanoi is an educational training center, gathering a large number of universities and colleges compared to other regions in the country. In recent years, the futsal movement has gradually developed strongly in the school system in this area. The organizing committee believes that this year's student futsal season will leave many new impressions."
The Organizing Committee hopes to expand the reach of the public, especially the student community and young people, towards a national playground for students in the future.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien, Chairman of Hanoi University and Technology Sports Association, Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, hopes that the tournament will contribute to promoting the sports movement in general and futsal in particular nationwide, promoting the indoor football movement more and more widely to the youth and Vietnamese student community.
Regarding the award structure, the 2024 Hanoi student futsal tournament will include a cup, gold medal, title board and bonus for the champion team; title board and bonus for the second and third place teams and the team with the style award; along with individual awards such as: best player of the tournament, best goalkeeper of the tournament, top scorer...
In addition, there will be online and live games at the competition venue with many valuable gifts for participating students.
According to the draw results on the morning of October 11, Group A includes the host team Vietnam Agricultural Academy, Hanoi National University of Education and Hanoi Capital University.
Group B includes 3 teams: Hanoi University of Business and Technology, Hanoi National University and Thang Long University.
Group C includes Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and School of Mechanics - Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Group D includes Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, University of Economics and Technology and Dai Nam University.
The first match of the 2024 Hanoi student futsal tournament was the clash between Vietnam Agricultural Academy and the University of Education, taking place right after the opening ceremony on October 14.
