The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced a list of 4 Federations expressing their desire to host the 2026 Asian Women's Cup: Australia, Jordan, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia. AFC has begun working with football federations to collect documents, processes, and conditions for organization.
The final results will be announced by the AFC in 2023. In the history of the tournament, Australia hosted it in 2006. Unfortunately, the home team only won the runner-up position after losing to the Chinese women's team.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, after many successful tournaments, is looking forward to hosting the most prestigious tournament of regional women's football for the second time in Central Asia. In West Asia, Jordan is the only country to have hosted the tournament in 2018.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation is also aiming to become the second country in the region to host the Asian Cup for women. The Vietnam Football Federation VFF has successfully hosted this tournament twice in 2008 and 2014.
At the tournament held in 2022, the Vietnam women's team excellently reached the quarter-finals and lost to the Chinese women's team with a score of 3-1. This is also a tournament where coach Mai Duc Chung and his team won a ticket to the 2023 Women's World Cup ( hosted by New Zealand and Australia).
