U17 Vietnam is ranked 3rd in Group B after the first match of the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals.

After the first round of the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals, the opportunities for Southeast Asian representatives have changed.

On the night of January 4 (Vietnam time), the U17 Vietnam team had a commendable 1-1 draw with the highly rated opponent, U17 Australia. Despite being behind, U17 Vietnam still played resiliently to equalize, thereby bringing home the first point in the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals.

In the remaining match of Group B, U17 Japan showed their strength when they won 4-1 against U17 UAE. This result helped the team from the land of cherry blossoms firmly hold the No. 1 position in the group. Ranked 2nd and 3rd are U17 Australia and U17 Vietnam respectively. U17 UAE is temporarily at the bottom.

In Group A, U17 Thailand was in a difficult situation to win one of the top two positions after a heavy loss to U17 Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, in Group C, U17 Indonesia has a good chance to qualify for the World Cup after defeating a very strong opponent, U17 Korea, with a score of 1-0. The remaining two opponents of U17 Indonesia, U17 Yemen and U17 Afghanistan, are not too strong, so the chance for U17 Indonesia to pass the group stage, which means the ticket to the World Cup is very high.
