According to Decision No. 354/QD-BVHTTDL of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 4 collectives and 23 individuals were awarded certificates of merit after being voted as the National Typical Sports Team, Coach and Athlete in 2025.
In which, Vietnamese football has 4 representatives honored including the U22 Vietnam team, coach Kim Sang-sik, coach Mai Duc Chung and player Nguyen Dinh Bac.
According to the voting results announced by the Vietnam Sports Administration on December 31, 2025, in the category of typical sports team, the Vietnam U22 team ranked first with 1,660 points.
This achievement comes from a successful year of competition for the youth team when they won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, won all matches in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers and won a gold medal in men's football at SEA Games 33.
The above results are considered an important milestone, showing professional progress as well as effectiveness in the training and development of youth football in Vietnam in the past time.
In the category of typical coach, Vietnamese football has two representatives participating. Coach Kim Sang-sik leads the list with 532 points after a year of making his mark with the Vietnamese national teams.
Meanwhile, coach Mai Duc Chung continued to be honored in the group of 5 typical coaches nationwide, thereby affirming his persistent contributions to the development and stable achievements of the Vietnamese women's team in regional and continental arenas.
In the category of typical athlete, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac ranked third overall with 693 points. In 2025, this player and U23 Vietnam won the U23 Southeast Asian Championship, won a gold medal at SEA Games 33, and contributed to helping Hanoi Police Club win the National Cup and National Super Cup.
These achievements also helped Nguyen Dinh Bac win the Silver Ball of Vietnam 2025 and Best Young Player of the Year 2025.
