In the V.League 2025-2026, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club is one of the teams benefiting from overseas Vietnamese resources.
In round 12 recently, Ho Chi Minh City Police for the first time used Ngo Dang Khoa - a player loaned from Perth Glory (Australia). Right in his debut match, the midfielder born in 2005 made his mark with 1 goal.
In the 55th minute, after Lee Williams' escape to break the offside trap on the right wing, Ngo Dang Khoa appeared in the right position to finish close range, increasing the score to 2-0. The goal showed this player's ability to choose position and move without the ball quite well.

Previously, Lee Williams also opened up the game for Ho Chi Minh City Police. The overseas Vietnamese striker, who grew up in England, took advantage of long passes from the midfield, using strength and speed to overcome the PVF-CAND defense before scoring in the 24th minute. This is Lee Williams' 3rd goal after the last 3 official matches, showing his stable performance.
With a solid physique and direct playing style, Lee Williams is becoming a reliable choice in the attack of the Police sector team.
Not only Ho Chi Minh City Police, another overseas Vietnamese face also left its mark in the V.League, Tran Thanh Trung of Ninh Binh club. In the confrontation with Hanoi Police, Thanh Trung scored with a skillful individual handling when dribbling past many opposing players, before launching a shot into the near corner.
Although the goal did not help Ninh Binh win, the performance of the player born in 2005 still showed the potential for development in the domestic top football environment.

The common point of these overseas Vietnamese players is that they are well-trained and have the ability to quickly adapt to the pace of competition in the V.League. Thanh Trung once wore the U23 Vietnam jersey before the 33rd SEA Games and is considered a successor for youth teams.
With ASIAD 2026 taking place at the end of this year, Thanh Trung is likely to continue to be closely monitored for the gatherings of U21 Vietnam.
Ngo Dang Khoa also has Vietnamese citizenship, which helps his integration process in the domestic football system take place smoothly, opening up opportunities to wear the jersey of youth teams in the near future.
Meanwhile, Lee Williams, born in 2007, whose mother is Vietnamese, is in the process of completing the necessary procedures to be eligible for naturalization, thereby possibly becoming a long-term option for Vietnamese football.
The fact that overseas Vietnamese players continuously make their mark in the V.League shows the initial effectiveness of the trend of seeking and exploiting resources from the Vietnamese community abroad.
If used reasonably and developed according to the roadmap, this group of players can contribute to improving the professional quality of the tournament, while adding depth to the national team levels in the coming period.
