The Japanese team ranked second with 15 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 27 bronze medals. South Korea ranked third with 8 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 25 bronze medals.
In Southeast Asia alone, Thailand is leading with 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. Malaysia ranks next, followed by Singapore, Myanmar and Vietnam.
The Vietnamese sports delegation won 1 gold medal and 8 bronze medals. Among them, the gold medal belonged to Nguyen Ngoc Tram - Bui Ngoc Nhi - Hoang Thi Thu Uyen (women's team karate - kata).
