On the evening of December 18, the U22 Vietnam team made an impressive comeback against U22 Thailand to win the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. Although the opponent had 2 early goals in the first half, Dinh Bac, Ly Duc and Thanh Nhan scored to help the "Golden Star Warriors" win 3-2 away.

After the match, central defender Ly Duc shared: "The emotions at this time are so wonderful. I don't know how to express my emotions at this time. I just want to say 'Dady, you've done it'. This is my parents' dream."
The player born in 2003 added: "When U22 Vietnam was behind, the whole team could only encourage each other. I told everyone to look up to the stands, look at the fans to fight at 100% of their strength. He was the 13th player in the team, and we did it."
Finally, Ly Duc did not forget to send words of encouragement to a teammate who missed the 33rd SEA Games due to injury.
"Van Truong, the whole team fought for you. We hope you will recover soon. Everyone is waiting for Van Truong to return," Ly Duc emphasized.
Previously, midfielder Van Truong was one of the important pillars of U22 Vietnam. However, at the 2025 Panda Cup friendly tournament, he unfortunately suffered a ligament injury and had to undergo surgery. This caused Van Truong to miss his final SEA Games.
