On September 25, at the Department of Culture - Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, a meeting was held to review and evaluate the preparation for the organization of matches between the Vietnam team and the Nepal team, in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, and the 2026 U17 Asian Women's qualifying round.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). Also attending were leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation, representatives of security, health, foreign affairs units, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Football Club Joint Stock Company, along with the General Secretariat and functional departments of VFF.

At the meeting, representatives of VFF's functional departments reported on the preparation progress, while relevant units of Ho Chi Minh City such as security, health, and stadium also presented a plan for coordination. Mr. Cao Van Chong affirmed that the local organizing committee will closely coordinate with VFF to successfully organize the two events, thereby contributing to affirming the prestige of Vietnamese football with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
According to the plan, the Vietnam team will meet Nepal at 7:30 p.m. on October 9 at Go Dau Stadium (HCMC) and play again at 7:30 p.m. on October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC). The two matches will be broadcast live on digital platforms by VFF in coordination with FPT Play. The ticket sales plan will be announced to fans soon.
Right after the end of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, from October 13 to 17, Go Dau Stadium will be the venue for the 2026 U17 Asian Women's qualifiers. These matches are also reported directly by VFF on the federation's digital platform.
