Commentator, former player Trinh Quoc Hung passed away at the age of 43 after many years of attachment to football in the positions of player, coach and professional.

Information that commentator, former player Trinh Quoc Hung passed away at his home on July 30, shocked many colleagues and football fans. He passed away at the age of 43, ending a journey of many milestones both on the football field and behind the television camera.

Born in 1983, former player Trinh Quoc Hung grew up in Hanoi football training environment and was once considered one of the promising midfielders of Hanoi ACB club.

Possessing a good technical foundation and modern football thinking, he is expected to develop strongly in the professional arena.

However, a major turning point came in 2005 when he suffered a serious injury in the match against Can Tho in the V.League promotion competition.

Despite undergoing treatment and many attempts to return, prolonged sequelae prevented him from continuing to play at high intensity. In 2009, at the age of 27, he decided to close his playing career.

Leaving the field, Trinh Quoc Hung switched to youth training at the Hanoi Training and Sports Competition Center. For many years, he directly worked with U14 to U17 generations, participating in discovering and training many young players for Hanoi football.

After that, he continued to stick with football in another role as a commentator. With the experience of a former player and professional analysis ability, he quickly became a familiar face on football programs.

Trinh Quoc Hung regularly appears in commentary sessions, tactical analysis of the national 7-a-side football championship system, amateur tournaments as well as on VTVCab programs.

His passing left much regret for those who used to work with him as well as football fans. Although his playing career did not last as expected due to injury, he continued to contribute to Vietnamese football through training and professional commentary for many years after retiring.
