On March 15, voters across the country participated in the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
Midfielder Do Hoang Hen, a Hanoi FC player currently playing in the V.League, will also participate in the first vote as a Vietnamese citizen.
According to the plan, the player born in 1994 will exercise the right to vote at 7:30 am at polling station No. 22 (Hanoi). Hoang Hen has Vietnamese citizenship from October 2025 after completing the naturalization process.
Sharing about his time living in Vietnam, Hoang Hen said: "5 years is a long time. The living environment in Vietnam has created a very different version of Hoang Hen, when I, both on the football field or outside of everyday life, have improved and progressed every day. I have become more optimal and constantly improve.
This midfielder said that becoming a Vietnamese citizen is an important milestone in his life.
Becoming a Vietnamese citizen is a dream come true. I am honored to have the opportunity to repay the love and protection of everyone since I came to Vietnam," Hoang Hen expressed.
After naturalization, Hoang Hen fully enjoys the rights and obligations of a Vietnamese citizen, including the right to participate in elections. In addition to the midfielder of Hanoi Club, some other naturalized players can also participate in voting if they meet the conditions on nationality and residence, such as Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, Nguyen Filip, Le Giang Patrik or Nguyen Xuan Son.
In which, Nguyen Filip and Cao Pendant Quang Vinh are also expected to participate in voting in the area near where their team is concentrated at PVF.
