In just 1 day, the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will officially take place nationwide.
While the preparation work in residential areas on land has been basically completed, on the afternoon of March 13, the Hanoi Riverine Police force crossed the river to bring the last voter cards to the fishermen, so that no citizen, even those making a living in the river, was left behind in the all-people festival.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Cong - Deputy Head of Riverine Police Team No. 2, who directly directs support activities on the Red River, the Van Duc ferry wharf area is a key area with hundreds of voters living and working on cages and boats.
Determining that this is a particularly important political task, the unit has mobilized maximum forces and means to coordinate with the local election team, directly bringing each voter card to the people" - Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Cong said.
Also according to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Cong, the highest goal is to ensure that 100% of voters in riverine areas receive cards and are fully guided on their rights and obligations. The Riverine Traffic Police force not only ensures security and order on the river but also becomes a bridge for every citizen, even in remote and difficult places, to exercise their right to mastery on election day.
Many fishing villagers said that life on the river is inherently difficult in traveling and accessing information. However, in this election, the regular presence of the River Police force has helped people feel more secure and excited.
Officers and soldiers not only propagate about the Election Law but also wholeheartedly guide how to select virtuous and talented people to participate in state power agencies.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao (65 years old, living in a raft house on the Red River), her family has been attached to the river for many generations, but this is the first time she has held a voter card to participate in the election.
Holding the card in my hand, I feel that I am being cared for and valued. Definitely this Sunday morning, I will arrange work to go to the polls on time," Ms. Thao emotionally shared.
Ms. Thao added that in the past, due to difficult circumstances, often going fishing far away, her family had little opportunity to access information about the election. Therefore, the fact that officials and the Waterway Police force brought voter cards to her boat made her very touched.
Sharing the same joy, Mr. Tran Duc Hung - former Captain of Van Duc Ferry Terminal - said that the voter card is not just a piece of paper but also shows the concern of the Party and State for the people of the fishing village.
Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - who was born and raised on rafts - also expressed his emotion when receiving the voter card. "I am very grateful for the support of the functional forces and will participate in the election fully and in accordance with regulations," he said.
According to information from Riverine Police Team No. 2, by the end of the afternoon of March 13, 100% of voter cards of people in the fishing villages of Van Duc ferry wharf area had been handed out.
In addition to issuing cards, the working groups also took the opportunity to propagate and answer people's questions about the list of candidates, voting time and location.
Close coordination between the Hanoi Riverine Police force and local authorities not only ensures the progress of election work but also contributes to strengthening people's trust in the government.
The ballots are ready in the hands of the fishing villagers, waiting to be sent to the ballot boxes during the upcoming all-people festival.
