At the press conference after the opening victory at the 33rd SEA Games, coach Mai Duc Chung assessed that the first match always contained a lot of pressure, regardless of the men's or women's football event.
The Vietnamese women's team has overcome the challenge against Malaysia - a team that is improving significantly and has had a positive result against Bangladesh. Concentration is a key factor that helps the whole team win all 3 points, said Mr. Chung.

The veteran coach also emphasized that the team has achieved important goals in terms of force. The fact that no player was injured or had to receive a card helps Vietnam maintain its strongest squad for the journey ahead.
At the same time, Mr. Chung shared about the decision to arrange the squad, when harmoniously combining young players and experienced faces to create balance and maintain the necessary attack.
When asked if there is a goal to score more goals when the score is already 7-0, coach Mai Duc Chung said: In football, every coach hopes to score as many goals as possible, especially when the group still has many competitors. I always hope the team will score more goals if possible.
In addition, Mr. Chung expressed his emotion at the cheers of the fans: Today, there was only a small group of Vietnamese fans in the stands but the cheers were very enthusiastic. I was touched when I heard many fans calling my name. Thank you for supporting the Vietnam women's team as well as me personally".

As for Thai Thi Thao, the author of the hat-trick, she expressed her joy that the team had followed the instructions and maintained high concentration in the opening match.
My 3 goals come from the cohesion in the playing style of the whole team, and at the same time consider this a great motivation for the upcoming journey. I want to give this meaningful hat-trick to a teammate who has just welcomed a new member of the family and hopes the women's team will have a truly successful SEA Games, Thao said.
