Coach Park Hang-seo will begin a new journey in Thai football when he has just been appointed captain of Kanchanaburi Power FC club (Thai League 2).
However, before officially taking over this team, the Korean strategist will continue to accompany Bac Ninh FC as a professional advisor until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
According to the plan, Mr. Park will complete his work at Bac Ninh FC as well as his tasks with the Korean national team at the 2026 World Cup before officially debuting for the Thai team in July. This is considered an important transition period for the former Vietnam national team coach after more than 2 years of not directly coaching.
Kanchanaburi Power FC has just closed the Thai League 1 season at the bottom of the table and had to be relegated. This team aims to return to the Thai highest league next season, while building a long-term roadmap to compete with top clubs like Buriram United and aim for the AFC Champions League.
Meanwhile, Bac Ninh FC still receives professional support from Mr. Park in the important period of the First Division season 2025-2026. This team is nurturing ambitions to compete for a promotion to the V.League, so the experience of the coach born in 1957 continues to be highly appreciated.
After leaving the Vietnamese national team in early 2023, Mr. Park mainly took on management and advisory roles. In April 2025, he was appointed Vice President of the Korean Football Federation.
In his coaching career, Mr. Park is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Vietnamese football with milestones such as runner-up of the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, champion of the 2018 AFF Cup, two consecutive SEA Games gold medals and the first time bringing the Vietnamese team to the final qualifying round of the World Cup in Asia.
