Mr. Park Hang-seo becomes the new head coach of Kanchanaburi Power FC club (Thailand) in the Thai League.

On May 25, Kanchanaburi Power FC club (Thailand) officially appointed Mr. Park Hang-seo as head coach. This information received the attention of Thai and Vietnamese fans.

At the end of the Thai League 1 - 2025/2026 season, Kanchanaburi FC is at the bottom of the rankings with 23 points after 30 rounds, forced to play in the Thai League 2 from next season.

Notably, in the last 3 matches, this team was once led by interim coach Lee Jung Soo - former assistant coach of Mr. Kim Sang-sik in the Vietnamese national team in the previous period.

With the appointment of new coach Park Hang-seo, Kanchanaburi Power FC has great ambitions when setting a goal to return to the highest level of Thai football. The experience of the Korean strategist is expected to help this team improve professionalism and playing style.

However, due to the schedule with the Korean national team to attend the 2026 World Cup as Vice President of the Korean Football Federation, the appointment ceremony of coach Park Hang-seo at Kanchanaburi FC will take place in July after the tournament closes.

The important goals that Kanchanaburi set out include: relegation back to Thai League 1 within 1 year; becoming the leading club in Thailand within the next 5 years; building a team capable of competing with Buriram United; winning the right to participate in the AFC Champions League (ACL) and affirming its competitive position in Asia.

Since leaving Vietnamese football in early 2023, coach Park Hang-seo has not led any team. He became a professional advisor to Bac Ninh club for nearly 3 years, before being appointed Vice President of the Korean Football Federation in April 2025.

Coach Park Hang-seo is the most successful coach in the history of Vietnamese football. Under the management of the strategist born in 1957, Vietnam won the runner-up position at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, reached the semi-finals of the 2018 ASIAD, won the 2018 AFF Cup, and won gold medals at the 30th and 31st SEA Games.

Mr. Park also brought the Vietnamese team to the 3rd qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia for the first time.
