According to former player Kiatisak Senamuang, Thailand's door to comeback against Vietnam has not closed even though the home team lost 0-2 in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final. He believes that an early goal will be the decisive factor in creating change at My Dinh.

Former coach of Hoang Anh Gia Lai said that instead of being haunted by the 2-goal gap, Thai players need to see the match at My Dinh as an opportunity to show their ability.

Besides his comments on Thailand, Kiatisak also predicted how the Vietnamese team will arrange personnel in the second leg.
He believes that Nguyen Xuan Son may be given a chance after not making much of an impression at Rajamangala, while Dinh Bac continues to be highly appreciated. Quang Hai may return to the starting lineup to play alongside Hoang Duc and the defensive system continues to maintain 3 center-backs.
The second leg final will take place at 8:00 PM on August 26th at My Dinh.
