Recently, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) sent a letter appointing four Vietnamese referees and assistant referees to officiate matches in the 2025 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers, including referees Ngo Duy Lan and Le Thi Ly and assistant referees Pham Hoai Tam and Nguyen Trung Hau.
Referee Le Thi Ly (HCMC) and assistant referee Nguyen Trung Hau (Da Nang) will officiate matches in Group B, qualifying round of the 2025 AFC U20 Championship.
Notably, referee Le Thi Ly will be the first female referee from Vietnam to be appointed at the AFC U20 men's football tournament. Previously, referee Ly also participated in the Maurice Revello football tournament, within the framework of the 50th Espoirs International Festival in France.
Group B, with the participation of the two Vietnamese referees and assistant referees mentioned above, will take place in New Taipei City, Taiwan (China), including the teams of Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Taiwan (China), Cambodia and Nepal.
The matches will take place from September 19-30.
Also in the qualifying round of the 2025 AFC U20 Championship, referee Ngo Duy Lan (Long An) and assistant referee Pham Hoai Tam (HCMC) will participate in officiating in Group E, including the teams of Tajikistan, Oman, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Group E will take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The Vietnamese referees appointed at this tournament are all senior referees of AFC.
