At the send-off ceremony, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang - Chairman cum General Director of Viettel Group said that the team set 3 specific goals: competing for the V.League championship, reaching the National Cup Final and striving to be in the Top 8 regions at the AFC Champions League Two.
In this season, coach Velizar Popov will have the task of combining the group of new players with the existing force to meet the requirements on all three fronts.

Also at the launching ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Deputy Minister of National Defense awarded collective certificates of merit to Viettel Sports Company and 15 individuals who had outstanding achievements in training and competing to win the V.League 2025-202026 runner-up title.
This is the recognition of the Ministry of National Defense for the efforts to overcome the challenge of winning high rankings of the soldier-shirted players.
According to the schedule, The Cong Viettel will start their journey in V.League 2026-2027 with an away match at Truong Tuoi Dong Nai's stadium on September 4.
In the AFC Champions League Two, coach Popov's team will host Melbourne Victory club at Hang Day Stadium on September 16.
