Dutch player deal to Binh Dinh collapsed

Former Dutch U20 player - Roland Alberg will not be coming to Binh Dinh as reported in recent days.

Roland Alberg's representative - Mr. Danny Ris personally confirmed that the player born in 1990 will not go to Binh Dinh. The reason shared by Danny Ris was that Alberg had personal reasons, not specifically stated.

Previously, Roland Alberg confirmed that he and the Dutch second division team - Roda JC have officially terminated their contract. The 30-year-old midfielder appeared quite excited when receiving an invitation to play in Vietnam from Binh Dinh club.

Roland Alberg has played a total of 38 matches, scoring 17 goals for Roda JC in the Dutch national championship in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. He has previously played for U19 and U21 AZ Alkmaar - one of the most powerful clubs in the Netherlands.

At international level, Alberg has played 3 matches, scoring 1 goal for the Netherlands U20 in the 2012 Toulon tournament. In 2015, he participated in a friendly match with the Curacao team. In addition, the 30-year-old midfielder has also played 3 matches and scored 1 goal for the Netherlands U18.

Before V.League 2021, there was information that Roland Alberg and overseas Vietnamese player Tony Le Tuan joined Binh Dinh. However, only Tony Le Tuan plays for the home team at Quy Nhon Stadium.

Currently, the foreign players of Binh Dinh club have only 2 names: Ahn Byung-keon (from Saigon) and striker Gordon Rimario (from Hanoi). With the deal with Roland Alberg broken down at the last minute, Binh Dinh leaders need to urgently contact a new target if they do not want to waste a foreign player position in the 2021 V.League season.

Binh Dinh Club will participate in the quarter-finals before the 2021 season in Ho Chi Minh City. New signing Tony Le Tuan or notable faces such as Ho Tuan Tai and Duong Thanh Hao were all named by coach Duc Thang in the registration list. The tournament will take place from December 29, 2020 to January 2, 2021.
