Endrick dos Santos is playing for Ho Chi Minh City club at LPBank V.League 2024-2025. He is also one of the players called up to the Malaysia national team, preparing for the match against Vietnam on June 10, in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
During his time playing in the V.League, Endrick faced many Vietnamese national team players and was somewhat aware of many of their abilities. This midfielder emphasized that he was well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the Vietnamese team and shared useful information with the Malaysian coaching staff.
The Vietnamese players are agile, strong and determined, but they also have weaknesses. I believe that the Malaysian team is in a good position to face them, Endrick said.
According to this midfielder, coach Phung Thanh Phuong of the Ho Chi Minh City team and his teammates at the club also expect him to play well in the matches between Malaysia and Vietnam.
Malaysia have not won against Vietnam since 2014, but Endrick believes the situation is changing.
I believe in my teammates, the Malaysian team is in good form. This will be a good match. We know the opponent is very strong, but we have improved, Endrick said.
Endrick was born in 1995 and has now played 22 times for the national team. In this season's V.League, he has played more than 20 matches, scoring 2 goals for the Ho Chi Minh City team.
