The draw ceremony for the group stage and announcement of the schedule of the 2026 Southeast Asian Football Championship - ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 will be held at 4:00 PM on January 15 in Jakarta (Indonesia).
The ASEAN Cup 2026 final round gathers 10 teams. In which, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos qualify for direct participation. The remaining ticket will be determined through the play-off match between Brunei and Timor-Leste.
The ranking of teams into the seed groups is based on the average performance in the two most recent ASEAN Cups. Accordingly, the Vietnamese and Thai teams are ranked in the No. 1 seed group, which means they do not fall into the same group.
Group 2 includes Malaysia and Singapore, while Indonesia and Philippines are in Group 3. Group 4 is Cambodia and Myanmar, and Group 5 includes Laos and the winning team in the qualifiers.
The tournament continues to maintain the group stage format, playing in the home - away format, each team playing 4 matches (2 home matches, 2 away matches). This period takes place from July 24 to August 8, the top two teams in each group win the right to enter the semi-finals.
From the semi-finals to the finals, the teams compete in a one-on-one format, expected to take place in the period from August 15 to August 26.
